1. Obrigações Profissionais Específicas

Relações relativas à profissão

*  O(a) secretário(a) deve cultivar as suas capacidades e actualizar os seus conhecimentos, a fim de que o seu trabalho seja feito com o mais alto nível de rendimento. Demonstrará permanentemente um esforço de superação e de produtividade, tanto no plano pessoal como na sua contribuição para com a empresa.

*  O(a) secretário(a) deve abster-se de realizar qualquer prática que possa prejudicar a reputação da sua profissão.

*  Nenhuma secretária se deve valer da sua influência sobre os seus superiores, nem apelar a vínculos de amizade ou a recomendações para obter:

• Promoções imerecidas e, como consequência, uma remuneração maior do que a que lhe é devida pelo trabalho que desempenha, impedindo a promoção de outras pessoas que, pela sua experiência, os seus conhecimentos e anos de serviço, as merecem mais.
• Conseguir que pessoas que não estão preparadas para o exercício do secretariado executem as tarefas próprias desta profissão.

*  Deve ter consciência de que representa um colectivo que tem obrigação de defender e de enaltecer.

*  Deve fazer com que se respeite o Código Deontológico da sua profissão. Neste sentido, é conveniente que seja instrumento de divulgação deste documento, tanto para afirmar os valores contidos no código como para se apoiar no mesmo.

1. OBRIGAÇÕES PROFISSIONAIS ESPECÍFICAS

Relações com a empresa

• O(a) secretário(a) deve estar sempre pronto(a) a oferecer apoio e cooperação à sua empresa e deve conhecer, igualmente, os objectivos e a política interna da mesma.
• O(a) secretário(a) não aceitará uma remuneração profissional que não corresponda ao seu salário, nem incentivos e bónus que a sua empresa destine para tal fim. É-lhe proibido aceitar gratifi­cações económicas ou outras compensações que estejam directamente relacionadas com a transmissão de informação.
• O(a) secretário(a) tem o dever de contribuir para a celeridade do trabalho, não devendo aceitar sugestões nem coacções que vão no sentido de evitar o seu cumprimento.

As obrigações quanto às relações com os colegas

1. OBRIGAÇÕES PROFISSIONAIS ESPECÍFICAS

Relações com os colegas

•  O(a) secretário(a) deve abster-se de qualquer concorrência desleal em relação aos seus colegas. A discrição é um elemento específico nas relações externas do(a) secretário(a) é o fundamento essencial da sua capacidade de salvaguarda do sigilo profissional. O(a) secretário(a) deve ter consciência de que a discrição é de uma importância fundamental. O que para outros membros do colectivo podem ser leves faltas de respeito ou problemas de convivência (comentários de desprezo para com colegas, comentários ofensivos, jocosos ou em tom de brincadeira; ou duvidar publicamente da qualidade técnica de um superior), para o(a) secretário(a) é algo que está vinculado ao seu comportamento profissional.
• É obrigação de qualquer secretário(a) oferecer a sua colaboração a todos os seus colegas, quan­do a sua intervenção for necessária, para que não se produzam atrasos no trabalho e não se prejudique o funcionamento normal da entidade onde presta os seus serviços.

As obrigações quanto ao sigilo profissional

1. OBRIGAÇÕES PROFISSIONAIS ESPECÍFICAS

Do sigilo profissional:

•  Além de um dever, observar o sigilo profissional é um direito que apoia o exercício da profis­são de secretário(a), sem esquecer que existem leis que o protegem. O direito e a obrigação do sigilo profissional compreende:

* As confidências e informação pessoal da parte do seu superior a que puder ter acesso no âmbito do exercício da sua profissão;

*  Os factos de conhecimento limitado que afectem os seus superiores, colegas ou quaisquer membros do colectivo em que o(a) secretário(a) realize o seu trabalho. Por exemplo: dossiers pessoais, profissionais ou médicos;

* A informação cujo conteúdo tenha um valor específico para um leitor autorizado; ou qualquer outra informação que esteja classificada como confidencial, reservada ou com uma distribuição a pessoas específicas.

• O(a) secretário(a) evitará fazer cópias de informação confidencial e conservá-la fora dos arquivos oficiais sem conhecimento do seu superior.
• O sigilo profissional não deve entrar em conflito com a lealdade à entidade para a qual traba­lha o(a) secretário(a), que deve corresponder à confiança que o seu superior deposita nele(a) ao con­fiar-lhe e partilhar com ele(a) informação confidencial. Por isso, deve comunicar ao seu superior qualquer informação que possa prejudicá-lo ou beneficiá-lo a ele próprio ou à entidade para a qual trabalha. Os limites desta divulgação são marcados pelo sentido de lealdade e pela integridade que conformam o perfil pessoal do(a) secretário(a).

Os Princípios de Carácter Geral

1.  PRINCÍPIOS DE CARÁCTER GERAL

Dignidade: O(a) secretário(a) deve-se abster de qualquer comportamento que pressuponha infracção ou descrédito e desempenhar o exercício da sua profissão com honra e dignidade.

Integridade: Deve agir com honradez, lealdade e boa fé.

Sigilo profissional: Deve observar rigorosamente o princípio de confidencialidade nos factos e notícias que conhecer por razões ligadas ao exercício da sua profissão.
